Hello lovely readers! I hope you're having a wonderful start to the new month. I've had the craziest of weeks...I got the keys to my new studio and I can't wait to tell you so much more about that early next week...and I also discovered that my book is out there in the shops over a month earlier that it was supposed to be. Without any warning or discussion. I have been super sad about it. I have a beautiful launch event planned for 16th April and here we are at the beginning of March with the book in the shops.
I could allow myself to get really angry about this and let it ruin the next few exciting weeks for me or I could trust that my lovely friends and wonderful readers will still come and support me and celebrate with me in April. I'm crossing my fingers that you will. I have worked so hard not only on the book but in also making sure that I am creating lovely things for the inspiring people in my book and all the wonderful people out there who read this blog and follow me online. I'm sending you all a big hug in the hope that you're sending one back to me! And wow...my book is in Waterstones...the one in Piccadilly that I love so much! What a crazy thought.
And in the spirit of positivity....say hello to the wonderful Teresa Robinson, the 8th maker in my book. Teresa is a talented jeweller and she lives and works in lovely Portland, Oregon. Teresa was another Instagram discovery and I fell in love with her cute home and even cuter studio in her converted garage. I had no idea how much I would really love her work until I saw it in her studio and wanted to buy it all. I bought two gorgeous rings and am saving up for more, especially as I've just been looking at it all again on her beautiful Tiro Tiro site.
Teresa is such an inspiring maker not only with her jewellery but with her home and studio too, where she has created so much with her own hands. Here are a few little peeks to get you excited about the book.
Looking back over the images of Teresa's home and studio makes me get all excited and want to get up and make stuff!
Say hello to Teresa:
You can still order signed copies of Maker Spaces with adorable limited letter-press prints created by one of the makers in the book (and now waiting in my new studio for the books to arrive!). And/or keep 16th April free for the book launch event and party in London. Details coming very soon! xo
