We had lots of fun over the weekend creating this adorably cute and happy bench for our entry for the Out There Interiors Pimp My French competition.
A few weeks ago we received this bench from the French Collection and we were given free reign over what to do with it. I had a few thoughts but when my husband Stef 'mostercycled' an old cupboard for a photoshoot of our home I knew that there was only one thing that could happen to this bench!
I chose a really light blue spray paint for the main part of the bench and a happy bright blue for the top. Stef then chose some lovely Posca pens to draw his monsters with.
I found these pretty knobs in The Dulwich Trader (just down the road from our studio!) and oh how we laughed when we used them for the monsters' eyes. They couldn't be more perfect!
Stef's monsters are a big part of our home and family life. He's used them to teach our children to draw and he regularly runs big monster workshops around the kitchen table with the whole family. Monsters are all over our house and now the first monsters have arrived at the Makelight studio!
We would love you to vote for us please!
And if you like Stef's monsters you can see them in the introduction to Maker Spaces and for the very first time you will be able to buy Stef's monster illustrations at the Makers' Pop-Up at my launch event on 16th April in London.
