Hello! I am absolutely thrilled to be able to introduce you to the first of the Makers in my new book "Maker Spaces," the wonderful textile designer/maker and owner of the Linen Garden, Vicky Trainor.
When I first pitched my book about a year ago Vicky was on my wish list of makers I wanted to feature, so I was incredibly happy when she agreed to let me feature her beautiful home and studio. It was a complete joy to travel up to her home in the North of England and discover a gorgeous treasure trove of a home and her studio...wow...what can I say? A floral heaven!
The images I am sharing with you today are just little sneak peeks that I took on my iPhone that very special day but I cannot wait for you to see her home and the studio she has there in all its glory in "Maker Spaces", when it is published in April. You will also be able to read her inspiring maker story.
I have loved Vicky's work for a long time. It's not hard to understand why, given how much l adore flowers and nature. I absolutely love all the vintage treasures that Vicky finds and rescues, and turns into the most beautiful things. And all with such care, love and not to mention talent.
I asked Vicky about her plans for the year ahead:
"Most of all I just want to spend the year researching…be indulgent and put aside some time to draw and paint….attend creative workshops to help ignite new ideas…develop my photography skills and generally just being a little indulgent creatively.
Vicky, thank you so, so much for saying yes! It is just so perfect that you are in my book and I cannot wait for people to see inside and view your beautiful maker spaces.
You can pre-order your signed copy of Maker Spaces with a limited edition letterpress card right here!
Next week I will be back to introduce you to the next Maker in the book. xo
