Styling the Seasons : December

I am rather late with this post but with the simple ideas I've used there's still time for you to be inspired by my December styling.

This month I have used beautiful Liberty fabric for my projects. I sadly missed the Crafting the Seasons event at Liberty but Charlotte and Katy were so kind and sent me some fabric. I have had a crazy busy month and after finishing my book last month I've been playing Christmas catch-up ever since. I had lots of ideas of things I wanted to sew but in the end I decided on using my Liberty scrap jar and to craft with that instead. The no-sew option! I spent a glorious hour all to myself creating this. Total bliss!

I used small pieces of fabric to tie around the jars to make them extra pretty and on the stems of the cotton balls.

A few days earlier I had made this sweet Christmas fairy with my big girl, complete with her Liberty fabric skirt. I had a beautiful peg doll kit from the lovely Lobster and Swan. I love how this poor fairy had so much glitter love that it's even in her eye!

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I escaped down to Cornwall for a long weekend, so we could refresh and recharge ready to indulge our children at Christmas. While we were there we had a lovely walk on the beach and I gathered some feathers to cover in copper colour glitter and a piece of driftwood to hang them off. Once home I added the sparkle and tied them onto the wood with Liberty fabric.

And on the other side of the room the mantelpiece looks like this.

If I can find a moment or two over the next couple days I'm going to add a few pieces of Liberty fabric to that light-up garland I made last Christmas.

A huge thank you to Katy and Charlotte for their wonderful and inspiring Styling the Seasons project.
