Trip to Rye

On Saturday we went to Rye for the day. Whenever I see a little gap in the diary I quickly put "family day" down in the hope that no work stuff will get in the way and we'll get to go on an adventure. And we struck lucky on Saturday because it was a sunny family day. Bonus!

I have wanted to go to Rye ever since I saw this lovely post and plus it's in East Sussex, which is one of my very favourite places. We all loved it. It's a beautiful little town packed with independent shops, lots of antique shops and lovely looking places for tea breaks and food. And a street called 'Wish Street'. How perfect!

When we go places with the children I try and find one little thing that I want to do for me. Then I can indulge them with all the things they'd like to do but feel like I've had a little treat too. I had spotted Lion Street Store on Tea for Joy and knew this was a place I had to pop into. Can you see why? Wow! I want to go back there already.

To add to the lovely, lovely day one of my favourite stylists Selina Lake was at Lion Street Stores signing her new book. I already have the book, Homespun Style but it was so lovely to meet Selina and to have the perfect excuse to buy another one of her books to get signed instead.

If you are looking for a sweet little place to visit put Rye on your list. We'll definitely be going back soon.
