Real time

{Off to school by sledge this morning. So fun, so cute!}

Something that has bothered me for a long time is how much time my children really get with me. I mean when I'm not also juggling my business, emails, texts, Twitter, blogging, ready blogs, cooking, cleaning, tidying etc. I seem to spend all day with toys/washing/dirty plates  in one hand and my iPhone in the other. "Just a moment sweetie" is always the phrase I say most every day. My children are with my nearly every day but how much of this time to they actually really, really spend with me? Not enough I know. Number 6 on my 12 for 2012 is:

Play more. {Because my children all love it when I play too and so do I. The cleaning, washing, cooking etc. can always be put off for even just 10 minutes. It means the world to them.}

I want to extend this to listening more too. I am going to set myself the challenge of playing, listening, being with my children without any interruptions at least twice a day. I'm going to start with trying to give them all 10 minutes of my real time twice a day each. This only adds up to one hour, which is crazy when you think about how many hours I have with them every day but it's a good place to start. It's always so easy to get caught up in all the things I try to juggle as a mother, wife, friend, photographer and blogger that I often feel like I don't give any of it my real, undivided attention. This needs to begin to change. And definitely needs to start with my most important job of all, being a mother to my three precious children. Iphone down, mummy's here, really here!

{And nursery by sledge too. That happiest way to start the week!}
